What was the challenge?
Furniture Village’s rapid growth placed significant pressure on its existing warehouse facilities. With space constraints and increasing throughput demands, the business needed to enhance operational efficiency and equip its operations appropriately. The solution was a new National Distribution Centre in Milton Keynes, doubling capacity and creating a modern logistics hub designed to support continued expansion.

The expanded NDC has enabled Furniture Village to hold more stock, streamline logistics, and significantly increase throughput. The warehouse team has welcomed the new fleet of Mitsubishi Forklift Trucks, noting their smooth operation and distinctive blue branding. These improvements have not only enhanced customer satisfaction but also improved the profitability and resilience of Furniture Village’s materials handling operations.

The new NDC has transformed Furniture Village’s logistics, enabling greater stockholding and improved throughput. The introduction of Mitsubishi’s SENSiA EM reach trucks, EDiA EM electric counterbalance trucks, PREMiA EM powered pallet trucks, and VELiA EM order pickers, has streamlined operations and enhanced safety. Battery changeover operations have been relocated to the new site, creating a safer and more efficient process. The NDC is supported by a full maintenance service contract, ensuring reliability and operational excellence across the network.
